This is Part 4 of 4, with photos of the trip after leaving Columbia River in Oregon, and visiting Smith Rock State Park, Bend, Crater Lake National Park, and then and heading for home down Highway 395 in the High Sierras.
Highway 97 has a nice view of the Deschutes River as we passed through the tiny town of Maupin, OR. We would see more of the river when we got to Bend.
For the first time ever, we spent the night at a rest area. Of course, this was a rather special rest area. . . the Peter Skene Ogden State Rest Area & Scenic Viewpoint.
We enjoyed watching people bungee-jump from the bridge, but we weren't tempted to paticipate!
We stopped for lunch at Smith Rock State Park, just outside of Bend.
After lunch we took a walk on the Rim Rock Trail.

We arrived at 'The Camp' in Bend on Oct 3rd, and stayed for two nights.
They had a very nice BBQ area, so we grilled some tenderloin and crookneck squash. Later we sat around the fire pit and chatted with other campers.
The RV spaces in the park weren't designed for modern motorhomes, and backing in was a bit of a challenge. Here's the clearance on the passenger side of our coach. . .

The next day we took an Uber to the Bend Whitewater Park on the Deshutes River, which runs through town. We enjoyed watching the surfers.
Then we walked to the Deschutes Brewery & Tasting Room. We had hoped to take in their brewery tour, but the only one available that day was at 4:00 and we didn’t want to hang around that long, so Chris had a tasting flight, and I had a pint.
