In October 2025 we took our motorhome to Paso Robles to participate in a Winemaker's Dinner featuring Austin Hope Family Winery and held at the "Field of Light" art installation at Sensorio. We also camped at a local winery and did a little wine tasting.
On the way north towards Paso Robles, we stopped for a couple of nights at Cachuma Lake Campground.
Our favorite campsite is #401, where we've stayed before. It's right on the water, shaded, and very private.
Here's the view from our 'dining room'. . .
. . . and here's the view from our 'living room'. . .
. . . and the view out the windshield.
We had a lovely sunset one evening.
This 360-degree video shows that the sunset colors were all around us in every direction.
All afternoon there were multiple Turkey Vultures soaring back & forth over our campsite (hopefully not a bad omen), riding the updraft as the breeze from the lake hit the shore.
There was a seemingly endless parade of waterfowl paddling by. At first we assumed they were ducks. . .
. . . but a closer look revealed that they were Canadian Snow Geese.
As we approached Paso Robles we saw some beautiful fall colors.
We stayed at Sun Outdoors Wine Country Resort, and almost had the RV Park to ourselves.
At the Austin Hope Winemaker's Dinner, we enjoyed talking with the charming couple seated across from us, and they offered to take our photo.
We were seated at the edge of Sensorio's "Terrace." The temperature dropped quickly as the sun descended, but we were warmed by a fireplace on one side and patio heaters on the other side.
