10/19/16, Wednesday: El Centro, CA to San Diego, CA

We passed another huge solar farm (this time photovoltaic solar panels) not too far west of El Centro. Assuming we have the right one, this farm has almost 2 million solar panels and can power roughly 44,000 homes at its peak operation! We're big fans of solar power (having installed panels on our own home in 2016) and it was fun to see 2 such enormous farms on this trip!

The heat wave continued, even in San Diego, but at least changing from Santee Park (our original plan) to Mission Bay, gave us a 10-degree drop in temperature, 98 to 88 (the Thursday forecast). We hung out at our campsite (which was as close to the water as you can get there) for the evening and enjoyed the breeze coming off the bay.
