10/20/16, Thursday: San Diego, CA

Today we took a bike ride along Mission Bay before it had a chance to heat up. And after that bit of exercise, we had a little champagne brunch. We do this most every Sunday at home, but when we’re traveling in the coach, it seldom happens. Either we're driving, or have plans that would make it seem imprudent. And if you've been following this whole trek, you'll see that our plans often include wineries and breweries, so, well, brunch might be a bit redundant. 'Nuff said ;-) But today worked out, and after brunch we sat in our camp chairs in the shade with a view of the bay until our shade ran out and it warmed up to the point where we retreated inside for some air conditioning.

That evening our friend Michelle (who had moved to San Diego about 3 years prior) picked us up at the RV park and took us to her place to see her view of the city and enjoy some wine and appetizers before going out to dinner. Seeing her place was like going to an art gallery, as we got to see lots of her paintings and examples of her work with fused glass—very fun!
