10/21/16, Friday: San Diego, CA to Newport Beach, CA

Today we made a short drive up the coast to Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, though our spot was not at the water's edge. These spots were really tight and our hook-up access was actually inches (I'm not exaggerating) from the exterior compartment door we needed access to. As in, Chris had to really refine his back-in approach while I stood at the access box to get things lined up just right. Pheww! I watched a few people nearby pulling into their sites, and what a sight it was! Someone across the way backed in their 5th wheel like a real pro, lucky though that he could use an (as yet) unoccupied site on our side of the road to pull part-way into to angle it perfectly. It may have been a 2- or 3-point-turn effort, but you couldn't have done it in any fewer. That's just what it took for something that size in these tight spots! We just chilled in the coach for the rest of the afternoon and evening, starting to look forward to heading home.
